Deborah has always understood the power of education to improve people’s lives and create opportunities. Since moving to the United States, Deborah has held onto her commitment to her education, completing a Certificate in Biotechnology and Good Manufacturing Practices at Quincy College in 2026.
Through this program, she gained both academic and technological expertise, while practicing dedication, discipline, and persistence. Balancing school with family commitments and financial responsibility was often difficult. Despite these challenges, Deborah strives to continue her education. With the continuing First Literacy Scholarship, Deborah is working to achieve her associate degree in biotechnology, and to continue serving as a positive role model for her family, peers, and community.
